Job Function Qualcomm CDMA technologies is largest developer of 3G and 4G communication technology in the world. Our ASIC modem design teams deliver cutting edge hardware and software products across every established wireless standard/protocol. The role of an ASIC Modem Engineer at Qualcomm is the specification, design and implementation of digital circuits and software for wireless applications.

Qualcomm CDMA Technologies is looking for several creative engineers (at all levels) to develop next generation wireless modems (CDMA, UMTS, OFDM, GSM, and etc). Responsible for system architecture definition, and/or RTL implementation.
Skills/Experience Solid ASIC design experience including architecture, microarchitecture and RTL design, with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Discrete-time Signal Processing and/or Digital Communications

Modem or high-speed DSP datapaths: digital filters, ffts, error-correction codes, etc.

Onchip buses, cross-bars, framers/deframers and data movers, etc.

Embedded Micro-controller subsystems

Massively parallel processors, GPUs, etc.

Hands-on experience with VHDL/Verilog is required.

Working knowledge of Matlab, C/C++, or equivalent is highly desireable

Software design experience and knowledge of CPU and DSP architectures is desired.
Responsibilities Individuals in this role are responsible for developing next generation cellular modems in the following technologies: GSM, CDMA, UMTS and LTE.
Education Requirements Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering
Preferred: Master's or PhD, Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
