**This role requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a US Government issued security clearance.**
In this role as a System Engineer will support government-sponsored research and development of such systems, including adaptation and extension of commercial systems to novel applications and environments, as well as internal development efforts.
Qualcomm Government Technologies has a mission to promote and advance Qualcomm's wireless terrestrial and satellite communication technologies to the government community of users. New products, innovations, research and development in all areas of the company's technology are applied to address the unique communication challenges of government users.
Skills/Experience
Proven knowledge in the following areas:
* CDMA or UMTS physical layer standards and data communication protocols
* Experience with cellular network design and performance analysis, including RF parameters, core network, coverage and capacity
* Demonstrated software skills and the ability to construct simulations for system performance
Responsibilities
Requires experience with CDMA or UTMS based systems, and a strong understanding of network design, development, testing and optimization of cellular wireless systems for voice and data applications. Background in wireless telecommunication protocol standards, call processing, traffic modeling, coverage and capacity analysis, RL MAC Performance, or Call Processing Flows. Knowledge of digital signal processing a plus. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential.
U.S. citizenship required. Applicants selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Current TS/SCI is a plus.
Education Requirements
A minimum of a Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required.^^
