In this role you will be working on advanced front-end modules for cellular/wireless applications as part of the Qualcomm's RF Front-End (RFFE) Department. The position offers the opportunity to design advanced Power Amplifiers for the next generation of RF Front-End Modules to ensure design success and market leadership.

You should have experience in Power Amplifier design, modeling, simulation, tuning and bench evaluation, be familiar with amplifier modes of operation and efficiency enhancement techniques (ET/DPD). Responsibilities include RFIC design, load line design, system level analysis and using different architectures to deliver best-in-class end-to-end module performance, size and cost in a dynamic team environment with aggressive schedules.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years ASIC design, verification, or related work experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or MS with 3+ years of experience in Power Amplifier design and verification
  • Demonstrated RFIC/PA design expertise with HBT, pHEMT, and/or sub-micron CMOS device technologies
  • Demonstrated expertise to use circuit/EM simulation tools such as ADS, Cadence, HFSS, Matlab
  • Familiar with amplifier modes of operation and efficiency enhancement techniques (ET/DPD/load modulation)
  • Device Physics understanding of PA RFIC technologies
  • Knowledge and expertise on improving PA efficiencies and linearity while meeting aggressive cost and size targets
  • Design experience of bias networks at extreme environmental conditions
  • Demonstrated experience in PA and RF Front-End Module high volume production, module/packaging technologies, and understanding of reliability and manufacturing
  • Proficient in use of RF test equipment such as network analyzer, loadpull systems, spectrum analyzer, signal generators, power meters, and oscilloscope for characterization and tuning of design
  • Familiar with mobile wireless communication standards and requirements for 3G/4G/5G
